Carroll County ranked 7th in state for resident earnings in 2017


Carroll County ranked 7th among counties in New Hampshire by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Carroll County residents was an inflation-adjusted $29,077 per year. Carroll County had 21,203 households in 2017, with a population of 47,524.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Rockingham County. Rockingham County's median income was $39,666 per year after adjusting for inflation – $10,589 more than Carroll County. It had 119,955 households in 2017 and a population of 302,479.

Coos County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in New Hampshire, with a median income of only $24,716 per year. That was $4,361 less than the median income in Carroll County at the time. Coos County had 13,879 households in 2017 and a population of 32,119.
