Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
We invite all Feminist Oasis members and any interested members of our greater community to join us and share their thoughts on key issues related to feminist movement, in a local context.
Over the past year, Feminist Oasis has organized over 60 events with the goal of advancing intersectional feminism* within the Seacoast region. Our goal is to respond to what our community needs, which means regularly holding listening sessions that reach beyond our usual audience, to hear from the greater community about what issues are most critical to them, and how we can help address challenges, or elevate those who can better address them.
We’ll hear a few neighbors’ stories and then have group breakout conversations. The conversations will be community-led. Some questions that may arise:
- Is feminism needed in our region?
- What feminist work is being done?
- What are the biggest challenges to enacting feminist values?
- What resources can we share?
- How can cross-sector coalitions provide solutions?
